Spring Neutrals

In a sea of bright colors and clashing prints, opt for a fresh, clean, minimal look that will make a bold statement in the most sophisticated way. Neutral hues are not only timeless but one of the biggest trends this year.

Easy to style with nearly everything in your closet, a guaranteed way of showing off your styling skills is by pairing them with like colors for a chic head-to-toe monochrome look.

There is no doubt sweats have been having their moment.  They are equally as comfortable as they are cool, and their styling opportunities are endless.  One of our favorite ways to style them is by throwing on an oversized blazer. The mix of casual and dressy, relaxed and structured, gives you the perfect laid back yet put-together look.

INVESTMENT PIECES THAT ARE WORTH IT

Anyone who has been following us this season knows how obsessed we have been with leather. They are the ultimate investment piece, but for good reason. These splurgy purchases are the gift that give repeatedly, matching just about everything and elevating every dress-up or dress-down ensemble. A must-have for us are the black leather culottes by Proenza Schouler.
Also topping the list is the trench by Co Essentials. It's a subtly stylish update, but stays true to the iconic trench, so you will get many years of wear out of it.
We'd be remiss if we didn't give mention to the Linda Jacket by Isabel Marant Etoile. Cut to be perfectly oversized but not bulky, it's a lighter weight and leaves plenty of room to layer over sweatshirts or sweaters. For a more feminine look, try slipping yours over a flowy dress.

Introducing: Proenza Schouler

Proenza Schouler is here, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome this brand to the LBB family!
Known for their iconic bags, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, Proenza Schouler pieces speak easily to the modern, refined woman.
Since creating the PS1 bag in 2008, the brand has garnered a following of it-girls, celebrities, and fashion insiders. This season the iconic bag has been shrunken down to a trendy “micro” size, perfect for carrying just the necessities - keys, wallet, phone, and hand sanitizer.
Their Resort ’21 collection also features wardrobe staples such as knits and easy dresses, along with a must-have pair of black leather culottes. In the words of Vogue, “Nothing looks cooler and is more functional than a pair of durable leather pants.”

Festive Season

It's early winter, and the weeks are flying by!  Whatever your perfect holiday celebration entails - whether your friends and family decide to surround the virtual table via Zoom, or you're celebrating at home - we've selected some of our newest arrivals from Ulla Johnson, Saloni, and Veronica Beard that will help you get ready for the season.

POWER COMBO: LEATHER AND KNITS

It’s easy to see why leather is having its moment: it’s chic, works for most occasions, and by pairing with knits, you have the most reliable outfit formula for Fall.
As two fall staples that offer endless styling possibilities, we've selected some of our favorite leather and knitwear pieces that we hope inspire you to give this duo a try.

CARDINAL RULE OF WORKING FROM HOME

There’s no magic behind it- getting dressed is tied to our mental health and routines that are essential to our well-being. According to a Huffington Post article “Some people may have an easier time being productive if they recreate the cues associated with their productivity. If they’re getting dressed, that puts them in the mindset to work or study.”

I personally don’t need many excuses to keep one of my favorite routines of the day, getting dressed. Midi dresses have been having their moment for some time now, and it’s not a huge mystery why. Delivering at home comfort and more suitable for Zoom meetings than your sweats, midi dresses make me feel more ready for my day ahead. Plus, I will definitely need them for the glorious day when we can put this pandemic behind us. Once you unlock their versatility, you will be delighted by how midi dresses are such a treat-something for today, and something for later.

TIBI

We are so thrilled to introduce a new brand to us, Tibi. Amy Smilovic, the Founder and Creative Director, believes women should dress in a way that is effortless but polished. She's also a master at contradictions— “youthful and sophisticated, masculine and feminine, bold and muted.”

It’s the unexpected details and cuts that make Tibi’s collections super cool yet approachable. Go for an edgy look or pair these pieces with heels and a clutch for a more feminine approach. Either way, you're guaranteed to be noticed!

One Thing That Never Leaves My Front Door

What is the age you can’t swing a hooded sweatshirt anymore? When you graduate from college, do you also graduate the beloved daily piece that followed you from dorm room to the classroom, then to the library, and back?

When I started interviewing for jobs for the first time, I remember the first thing I did after printing off a freshly minted resume, was to purchase a blazer. I don’t think it was until I was well into my 20s that I realized blazers don’t always have to go with a coordinating work trouser. And I think I had to pass my mid-30’s before I officially graduated from sweatshirt to blazer. I find myself layering in blazers more often on any given casual day, than for dressier occasions. Are blazers even for dress-up any more?
